Spring Break 2000 and our Costa Rican Adventure
Hilton Head Prep students, Mr. Vermillion and I had the best adventures in Costa Rica. From swinging through the rainforest on a canopy tour, to horseback riding through a banana plantation, to our trip to Tortuga Island in the Pacific, we had a great time. The best part of our trip was our two day rafting trip down the Pacuare River and our over night stay in the jungle. If you go to Costa Rica, and everyone should go, be sure to get Abel and Phillip for your guides.

Ready to raft down the Pacuare River
The Pacuare Lodge in the jungle
No electricity but one of the best places I have ever stayed!!!
Waterfalls to climb and swim in.
Sloth relocation
We also saw monkeys, lizards, tucans, and tons of other animals. There were a lot of beautiful butterflies too.
Tortuga Island
"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale....a three hour tour...."
Nessa in the rainforest
The hugh leaves are referred to as "poor man's umbrella." Nessa and I were in Costa Rica in the summer of 1999. She couldn't make the trip with the Hilton Head Prep students but I didn't want her to feel left out.
